Day 331 - After the rain

After the rain, it seems green stuff is sprouting all over the place! Feels more like Sydney now, what with the humidity steaming up the place. I am appreciating all the lush growth, though, considering Summer will cook the place and take out large sections of the garden. I don't remember this kind of severity before with Melbourne weather.

Here's the neighbours' tree that I'm worried about. Yes, the fence neighbour. If this tree collapses into our yard or (God forbid) our house, our neighbours will not be compensating us; this I know.

Day 93 - Rain (downpour)

What a downpour we had today. Thunder, lightning; trouble on the roads; cancelled trains and broken boom gates. When I came home the rain had almost stopped, and I let in a very wet dog. My dog, in case you're wondering. Then I took a photo of my backyard which was still smelling like rain and looking uncharacteristically green.

Day 62 - Fruit and vegetable shopping!

Just another dynamic day! Going out to purchase fruit and vegetables! Don't laugh (or yawn), this was not just any old fruit and vegie shop, it was a quest for THE best, the freshest, the reddest, the GREENEST produce!
I like to make my own entertainment....

Day 61 - Green month

Only just realised the 'green' theme for March (thanks Rhonda), and took a picture of a Moroccan tassel hanging on one of our doors. I had trouble avoiding the flash in the door handle. Green is going to be a challenge creatively, since I don't want to take a whole month of trees and bushes. I was feeling ill earlier today, but I wasn't able to capture my own shade of green.

Day 50 - It's not easy being green

Despite the drought, the extreme temperatures of Summer, the rest of the garden dried out, dropped off or dropped dead, miraculously the vine over the back verandah is still green.
