Day 315 - School grounds

Our school is situated in beautiful surroundings. I think I've mentioned this before. I noticed young new trees in a dry area. They will have to survive without too much water, especially the way our temperatures are soaring so early in the season.

Day 287 - Natural surroundings

I'm fortunate to work in a school set in a beautiful natural setting. During the course of the day, focused on immediate tasks and concerns, everything outside the library fades, but as I walk to the carpark after work, I reconnect with the surroundings and appreciate the beauty of the place.

Day 214 - Sunday roast

Sunday evening meal - lamb noisettes and roasted potatoes with Blanche Barkly 2004 Shiraz. Very satisfying. I feel I've achieved something today. We have been planning to repot two Christmas trees which have been root-bound for a while, and are now looking unwell, not to mention the fact that we've had no rain, and I haven't been watering. For ages we've been unable to find plastic pots large enough, and today we bought a couple. What are we going to do when the trees outgrow these pots? I still need plastic so they can be carried indoors for Christmas.
