Day 261 - Escape

Last day of term and we've flown the coop. That unbeatable feeling of packing up and leaving the workplace for the long-awaited stretch of 2 weeks. Sunny day and the promise of many more. Blossoms, the sound of grass being mowed, people walking their dogs, planned outings. Very nice.

Day 185 - Heaven

Simple pleasures are the best. Fresh air, sun, breakfast on the pier, good reads and conversation, no cooking or housework! Why does it have to end?

Day 184 - Barwon Heads

One of my favourite parts of the world is Barwon Heads on the Bellarine Peninsula. To celebrate my husband's 50th birthday three of us stayed in a cabin by the ocean. A picture-perfect location, we literally had the ocean at our feet. Even in winter this is the place to be. The weather transformed itself continuously - one minute it was sunny and blue skies, the next the sky was a dramatic painting of greys, deep blues and whites. A relaxing weekend!

Day 112 - Back to school

My Easter holidays were extended by two days, and I finally decided to return to school today. Back in the library, I took a photo of a couple of students using our new catalogues (OPACs). After an absurdly long wait for these to be installed after our minor refurbishment (red shelf ends and catalogue stations), we watched in horror as our maintenance men drilled holes in the most illogical places and fed wires where they should never have been. Stranger things have happened, I suppose.

Day 2 - school holidays

My younger son, Maxim relaxing during his Christmas holidays. You can see my laptop on the couch in the background, where it almost permanently resides, ready for me to do some time-wasting.
